Quantum Yoga

500-hour Yoga Alliance certified Yoga Teacher Training In Goa, India

The one-month Intensive Yoga Teacher Training in India will run from the 23th January till the 20th February 2016.  It will be held at Bhakti Kutir, a beautiful retreat centre located between south Goa’s most spectacular beaches Palolem and Patnem, and yet tucked away in a quiet enclave of tropical gardens. This will be the 9th year that the QYTT has been held at this wonderful eco-resort which is true to its name meaning ‘abode for meditation’ and is therefore the ideal place to hold such an intense yoga immersion program.

Senior Quantum Yoga Teacher, Judith Daniel will be taking the course and Quantum Yoga founder Lara Baumann will actively oversee and consult the programme, as well as holding twice weekly Skype sessions with the group.  Judith will be assisted by other Quantum teachers and there will also be visiting lecturers on various specialized subjects. The friendly and helpful German owner and Indian staff at Bhakti Kutir speak English, and are accustomed to catering to the needs of foreign yogis. Bhakti Kutir comprises a fully dedicated Ayurvedic spa and medical centre, where many Quantum Yoga students have been spoilt and healed. BK’s restaurant serves not only incredibly healthy food (much of which is sourced from local organic farms), but it is also irresistibly delicious, which has made many a sun salutation not quite as light and graceful as one would hope! All cabanas are individually decorated, and always comprise some form of charming study / chill-out option, such as a veranda with deck chairs, a balcony with planter chairs, hammocks etc. Many lovely beach bars, restaurants and shops are in walking distance, so there will be absolutely no problem to fill your spare time.

The Teacher Training is suitable for those who have completed the 200-hour YA training and would now like to develop their teaching skills further, deepen and intensify their understanding of the knowledge gained previously, and gain additional insight into the spiritual science of yoga.

The 500-hour program will run alongside the 200-hour Intensive Teacher Training, and as such you will act in the role of mature student, able to support and advise the less experienced trainees. You will therefore be working very closely with Judith, thus acquiring the practical, pedagogic and psychological skills to guide students through stressful and pressurized situations.

The content of the course will be a further development and deepening of your understanding of the history, philosophy and application of yoga. In order to deepen your understanding of Quantum Yoga, you will be expected to further explore the teachings of Ayurveda and the significance of Quantum physics in the framework of asana-vinyasa, pranayama and meditation practice. There will be a chance to recap the subjects covered in the previous courses (see 200-hour TT content described above), and thus expand your knowledge on these from a solid foundation.  You will be expected to develop from simply taking in information to now displaying the skill of clearly and succinctly imparting it to others, as well as relating it back to and integrating it into the realm of asana teaching. Thus part of the 500-hour course work will include a lecture prepared by you on a chosen subject. This may then also form your subject for a written thesis of 5000 words. You will be expected to have prepared an outline proposal for your final paper, which will be written after completion of the course (final submission date is 20th March 2016).

The assessment on the 500-hour course will consist of a written preparatory outline, to be approved by Lara and Judith, followed by the actual teaching of the class. The structure will need to follow the Quantum Yoga Grouping and Sequencing laws. There will have to be an explanation of the Assessment methodology, as informed by Ayurvedic principles. The sequence will have to have a clear theme, a peak pose (if appropriate), as well as the application of linking mechanisms beyond half-vinyasas.

Over and above the 200-hour classes, most of which the 500-hour trainees will attend, there will be an additional Practicum hour after the morning asana class. We will have our own Q&A session before the lectures in the afternoon. Every day’s course work will conclude with an evening meeting with Judith to review the study, practice and events of the day, in order to clarify their relevance and significance, preparing the 500-hour students’ ability to construct and execute their own elaborate yoga programs in the future.

The course fees quoted below include all teaching and assessment, the essential Quantum Yoga book, accommodation, two healthy and delicious meals a day, afternoon tea & snacks, transfers, and of course a celebratory end of training event.
