“The retreat was just perfect for me. The yoga, the food and the location. Everything. I can’t wait for the next one.” – Jasmin, Salute to the Sun 2015
SALUTE TO THE SUN 2017 will take place at magnificent 17th century plantation house, Holders House (www.holders.net). Set in its own stunning grounds on the wonderful west coast of the island, the house has a beautiful verandah looking out to sea, which provides the perfect backdrop for the twice daily flowing yoga practise with Judith Daniel (www.quantumyoga.com). It is elegant but comfortable with lots of sumptuous sofa areas for relaxation and reflection, gorgeous dining spaces, stylish bedrooms and a wonderful pool. The gentle waters of the Caribbean sea beckon a 15 minute walk or short drive away. Fabulous raw food expert Manuela Scalini (www.manuelascalini.com) will again delight with menus which are delicious and divine and highly skilled massage therapist, Claudia Tessarin (www.attivamassage.co.uk), will be on hand to soothe away any aches and pains.
As we salute the sun, we are bowing to the divinity within and acknowledging our oneness with the brilliance of the sun and its creation. In our practise, the sun salutation brings about the harmony of body, breath and mind in a seamless flow, strengthening the body and opening us up to the beauty all around us. Throughout the week, we will explore many ways of saluting the sun, as it rises and as is sets. We will bask in its healing rays and experience its radiance in the lush and vibrant nature of the colourful Caribbean.

“What an amazing experience. I loved every minute of it!” – Susannah, retreat guest 2014
'Judith is wonderful at recognising each individual and their needs – keeping the yoga challenging and diverse. Gently encouraging a disciplined approach without being pushy. Excellent with people who prefer to push themselves.' – Claire, retreat guest 2014
"The venue was superb, stylish but homely… We had some amazing experiences, the rising sun, the setting sun, the absolutely hilarious and uplifting rain at sea during paddleboard yoga, a flirty crying parrot, and dips in the warm Caribbean Sea. Without doubt however the real stars were Manuela and her filling delicious raw food and of course the amazing Judith delivering beautifully organised, uplifting and graceful yoga. Always delivered with clear focus and gentleness – it is something I will certainly be rushing to do again, (just ordered a new yoga mat to salute the sun each day)." Susannah, retreat guest 2014.
Due to popular demand, there will be a second SALUTE TO THE SUN Yoga Retreat, BARBADOS in 2017. This will take place from 4 to 11 November.
